  1. School boards in India

    Choosing a board for the child is one of the most important concerns for parents. Many parents are unaware of the risk involved in sending their children to dubious and unrecognised functional boards of school education. Below mentioned is a list of all the recognised educational boards in India:
     
    Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
     
    Established in 1929, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, is a premiere board in India, which prescribes curriculum for more than 14,000 schools affiliated to it. The board acquired recognition in 1962. Today, apart from India, the board is functional in 20 other countries of the world. It organises seminars and workshops for teachers to get feedback as well as improving the curriculum. The board aims at conducting examinations for class 10 and 12, and secondly, conducting entrance examinations for admission to professional courses in various medical and engineering colleges. The prime focus of this board is on innovations in teaching and learning methodologies

    Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)
     
    Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) was set up in 1956. The council exists solely for educational purpose with no inclination towards profits. The main objectives of this board are to provide education which includes the promotion of science and literature, and to conduct school examinations. The Council conducts two examinations in India: for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and for the Indian School Certificate (ISC). CISCE, which is based in New Delhi, is one of the oldest education boards in the country engaged in offering education through the medium of English. The board ensures high standard of English (literature and language) in both class 10 (ICSE) and class 12 (ISC).

    International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
    The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a curriculum and assessment system, suitable for schools and colleges around the world. Formed in 1988, IGCSE has widespread international credibility as a qualification that prepares students for the next level of education. The curriculum is designed to encourage high academic standards through a practical approach towards teaching and learning. The curriculum comprises a two-year course of study, leading to an examination, which is typically taken at the end of grade 10 and the successful candidates receive an internationally recognised qualification.

    International Baccalaureate (IB)

    Founded in 1968 by the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), International Baccalaureate (IB), equips students with research skills, organisational skills, self study and self confidence, and other tools required for succeeding at higher education. IBO is a non-profit organisation that is not associated with any country. The IB curriculum covers subjects as diverse as social studies, science and technology, humanities, visual arts, etc. The curriculum is application-based and aims at creating global citizens.
