The Power of Vedic Math

In 1998 Mr. Pradeep Kumar(alumnus IIM Bangalore started working on Vedic Math, it was a little known subject and everybody who came to know about his decision discouraged him. At that point of time he felt that the Vedic math is incoherent. Later he realized Vedic math needed to be arranged in a systematic way so that trainers can teach it and drive results. Today Magical Methods has made Vedic Math teaching a systematic one which delivers result.

Finding Square of an adjacent number

We generally know the square of 30, 40, 50, 60 etc. but if we are required to calculate the square of 31 or say 61 we will scribble on paper and try to find out the answer to the question. Through Vedic math formula is simple and the application is simpler.

Say you know 602 = 3600

Then 612 will be given by the following

612 = 602 + (60 + 61) = 3600 + 121 = 3721

Or Say you know 252 = 625 then

262 = 625 + (25 + 26) = 676

Like above we can find the square of a number that is one less than the number whose square is known. Likewise we can find the square of a number that is one less than the number whose square is known.

Say you know 602 = 3600

Then 592 will be given by the following

592 = 602 – (60 + 59) = 3600 – 119 = 3481

Or Say you know 252 = 625 then

242 = 625 – (25 + 24) = 576

Finding Square of a number ending with 5

After learning this we are able to find the square of any number ending with 5.

Say you want to find square of 115

Then 1152 will be given by the following

Multiply 5 by 5 and put 25 as your right part of the answer.

Multiply 11 by the next higher digit i.e 12 and put 132 as your left part of the answer.

Answer is 13225

Say you want to find square of 85

Then 852 will be given by the following

Multiply 5 by 5 and put 25 as your right part of the answer.

Multiply 8 by the next higher digit i.e 9 and put 72 as your left part of the answer.

Answer is 7225

Multiplication of two numbers that differ by 2

Say you want to multiply 18*20

Then the solution will be given by the following

When two numbers differ by 2, their product is always the square of the number in between these numbers minus 1

18*20 = 19 * 19 – 1

Answer is 360

How to perform instant subtraction

Say you want to subtract 357 from 1000

Then the solution will be given by the following

We subtract each figure in 357 from 9 and the last figure from 10

9-3=6

9-5=4

10-7=3

Answer is 643

Say you want to subtract 85 from 1000

Then the solution will be given by the following

We take 85 as 085 and

9-0=9

9-8=1

10-5=5

Answer is 915
