NCERT Position Paper

National Focus Group on Educational Technology

National Focus Group suggests the use of Technology for improving the quality of education in India. Educational technology is required for the following:

• to revitalize and reorient existing resources (recognizing the potential of ICT)
• to bring systemic reforms (use of technology in equitable and democratic manner)
• to refresh skills of in-service teachers (use of ICT for lifelong professional development and support)
• to provide pre-service teacher training (media and technology enabled training)
• to promote quality of school education (improved access to knowledge, knowledge creation, flexible curriculum content and transaction)
• to promote quality of research
