School based management

Educational decentralization is a widely accepted phenomenon so as  to make the school-based management effective. But the decentralization process has resulted in failure of school-based management rather than bringing school improvement. This is due to the fact that decentralization process has been suffering with the two major problems. Firstly, the aspects of authority is still retained at the regional and central level. Secondly, the activities and capacities required for school improvement remain missing in the whole process.
This review paper will deal with the causes of failure of school-based management and the conditions under which it can work better. It will also discuss the strategic implications for establishing a powerful school-based management that can improve the learning outcomes of the students…………
