Planning Commission has issued a Handbook for the Parents of Children with Disabilities. It is a handy reference for all those seeking information on prevention and identification of disabilities. The handbook also provides information on the organizations working in the are of disability. It is an important guide book for all those who work for the education, inclusion and rehabilitation of children with disabilities.

The Handbook provides information on the following:

  5. Disability Certificate/Identity Card

  8. Legal Rights

In addition, it provides list of contact persons/resource persons; list of voluntary organizations; District Rehabilitation Centres; Vocational Rehabilitation Centres; Regional Rehabilitation Training Centres; District Centres; and list of special employment exchanges for physically handicapped.
